Officers and Directors meeting: 4th Tuesday of the Month at the LaSala's **All are Welcome**
|
** Activity Highlights **
Bring a bit of home to our deployed local soldiers!
We will be collecting items to make-up care boxes to send to some NJ units overseas. We are looking to collect:
Snack foods: Breakfast-type foods and drinks; canned fruit in flip-top cans; cereal bars; canned tuna; canned Chef Boyardee pasta meals; beef jerky; canned nuts; canned chips; packs of gum, candy, trail mix.
Personal hygiene items: soft toilet paper (sounds funny till you try to GI issue stuff); antibacterial wipes; anti-fungal for their feet (no aerosol cans); band aids; cough lozenges; tissues; shower-toshower powder; lip balm; eye drops; q-tips; tylenol; motrin.
Entertainment: beanie babies to give to the kids; crossword puzzles; DVDs; CDs; magazines; comic books; sport stuff (footballs, footballs, gloves, frisbees).
Karen and Frank will head this project and will be responsible for boxing the items, filling out the necessary lengthy customs forms, and getting them shipped to our some of our local young men and women.
You may or may not agree with the mission that these Americans have chosen to do. This is not about the war and not about politics. This is about making our local soldiers lives a bit more comfortable. Let’s all get involved!

Thanks again to everyone who came out to work on the Float and to those who marched in the parade. A special thanks to Carol for getting up early to attend the Awards Breakfast and to collect our Ribbon. A photo shot of our float was on the front page of the January Chamber News Letter.
