Bring a bit of home to our deployed local soldiers!

We will be collecting items to make-up care boxes to send to some NJ units overseas. We are looking to collect:

Snack foods: Breakfast-type foods and drinks; canned fruit in flip-top cans; cereal bars; canned tuna; canned Chef Boyardee pasta meals; beef jerky; canned nuts; canned chips; packs of gum, candy, trail mix.

Personal hygiene items: soft toilet paper (sounds funny till you try to GI issue stuff); antibacterial wipes; anti-fungal for their feet (no aerosol cans); band aids; cough lozenges; tissues; shower-toshower powder; lip balm; eye drops; q-tips; tylenol; motrin.

Entertainment: beanie babies to give to the kids; crossword puzzles; DVDs; CDs; magazines; comic books; sport stuff (footballs, footballs, gloves, frisbees).

Karen and Frank will head this project and will be responsible for boxing the items, filling out the necessary lengthy customs forms, and getting them shipped to our some of our local young men and women.

You may or may not agree with the mission that these Americans have chosen to do. This is not about the war and not about politics. This is about making our local soldiers lives a bit more comfortable. Let’s all get involved!

Questions: see Karen or Frank

Holiday Parade Float - this was our second year participating in the Chamber of Commerce Parade, and we won our Second Ribbon, taking First Place in the Civic Organization Category! Thanks again to everyone who came out to work on the Float and to those who marched in the parade. A special thanks to Carol for getting up early to attend the Awards Breakfast and to collect our Ribbon. A photo shot of our float was on the front page of the January Chamber News Letter.

Annual FISH-N-CHIPS Dinner with a side dish of Tricky Tray Baskets  (March  2004 and March 2005)

Held at St Francis Health Resort on Diamond Spring Road, Denville.  Ticket includes Fish, Chips, Desserts, coffee and tea. As an extra, side order, we held a "Tricky Tray."

Thanks to everyone who made this event a success. Those who attended are already looking forward to next year for this annual event. What a better combination..great food..lot's of it .. and ..winning lots of prizes at the Tricky Tray..

Family of Rotary Day

January, Family of Rotary month, was enjoyed by family and friends. Fellowship and good will was exchanged by all during a luncheon. Children attending received a voucher for a movie and snacks. Everyone enjoyed the good food and kereoke.

2004 Second annual Holiday Party for the Adults with special needs was again a great success. Many Alpha residents and there families enjoyed a fun evening with Santa Claus sharing presents and friendship. Many of our local entertainers and dancers made it a magical night.

2003 Holiday Party for the Adults with special needs was a great success. 30 residents of Alpha group homes and their families enjoyed a afternoon of good food and festive entertainment by local Magician and various Dancers. The Morris County Sherriff's deputized the guests. Santa Claus arrived bringing holiday cheer and gifts. "Fellowship at its best"
